In April 2009, the government announced the introduction of The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE). This scheme aims to provide one year of free pre-school education to every child in Ireland aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months on 1st September each year. The scheme commenced on 1st January 2010 and there are two options based on your needs;


Children attending a sessional playschool service will receive pre-school year sessions for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week over 38 weeks.

Children attending a full or part-time service will normally receive pre-school year sessions for 2 hours 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week over 50 weeks. To facilitate parents whose children attend a full or part time service for only 3 days a week, the service may provide 3 daily sessions of 3 hours 45 minutes each week.

if your childs is born between Feb 2nd 2006 and June 30th 2007 then your child is eligible for entry in to the ECCE scheme in september 2010.

Croí na nÓg are registered for the ECCE Government Scheme. Please contact us to book your free pre-school place for the forthcoming September. Please note you must be registered before the end of July to avail of the scheme in September.

 

Alternatively if you would like your child to avail of the FREE preschool sooner, register now to start in January.
